Pavel Kostyuk

DevOps Engineer

I work on scalable, automated, and cost-efficient infrastructure that helps teams deliver software faster and more reliably.

I am an early-career DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on infrastructure engineering, automation, and system reliability. I recently graduated with a BSc (Hons) in International IT Management from Coventry University (via FEI, 2025), after having transitioned into the IT field approximately three years ago. Since then, my work has been firmly centered around DevOps practices and production-oriented infrastructure.

My work sits at the intersection of cloud architecture, automation, and observability, where thoughtful design enables long-term stability and performance. At VirtualDays AB, I design and optimize hybrid-cloud environments using Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, GitHub Actions, Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki. Much of my work focuses on solving practical challenges within Kubernetes β€” from deployment automation and monitoring to researching and testing new solutions.

For me, DevOps is a methodology rather than a collection of tools. During my studies and professional experience, I’ve developed a solid understanding of process, structure, and collaboration β€” lessons that now guide how I approach systems and teamwork. I also hold a DevOps Engineer diploma from Nackademin (2024), combining technical expertise with management insight.

Outside of work, I contribute to small projects, including helping set up a virtual classroom environment for a French teacher, using open-source and self-hosted tools to support online lessons and collaboration. I also enjoy experimenting with automation and virtualization in my home lab. I’m currently pursuing CKA, Advanced Cloud Engineer IT certification and Scrum PSM-I certifications, continuing to grow across both technical and organisational dimensions.

When I’m not working with infrastructure, you’ll likely find me testing new ideas that solve everyday problems β€” or behind a camera capturing family moments during our travels.
